About

CherishAbility is building a compassionate sense of community and support for Christian Scientists with developmental/special needs and their families through financial assistance, informational and inspirational resources, and experiential enrichment activities.

CherishAbility originated in 1984 as a working ranch in upstate New York called Rainbow Valley Ranch. Since selling the property in 2004, CherishAbility has transformed into the only national support network for Christian Scientists facing down labels of developmental disabilities. Though the original residential ranch is closed, many of our families are interested in long-term residential solutions for their loved ones. Our enrichment activities provide “home” of a different kind—fellowship, community, and belonging. We offer adaptive camp opportunities at Christian Science camps, vocational training; online programs such as monthly inspirational parent gatherings, monthly Loved One Gatherings, Peer Connect, and other activities; and financial assistance for Christian Science practitioner bills and subscriptions to JSH-Online. By providing enrichment activities in a Christly atmosphere of love and healing, CherishAbility fills an unmet need for this beloved group of fellow Christian Scientists.
