Alta Vista is an independent living community for individuals and couples fifty-five+ who would like to live in fellowship with other Christian Scientists. We provide an environment supportive of the practice of Christian Science and living with grace and vitality.

About one and a half hours north of Los Angeles, on the coast, Alta Vista is composed of twenty-four individual apartments and is situated in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. There are many diverse and rich cultural, educational and culinary experiences all within walking distance, and the Santa Barbara church is a beautiful seven-block walk past two lovely parks.

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains in a beautiful park-like setting, Alta Vista has studio and one-bedroom apartments available for rent, with most utilities included as well as a variety of complimentary amenities. Rent is adjusted to income if necessary, and there is no maximum income limit. You may place your name on a waiting list if there are no apartments currently available.

We also offer a guest apartment that may be rented year-round for Rest and Study or as a travel stop.
