Tenacre: A Ministry of Christian Scientists
“Man, governed by immortal Mind, is always beautiful and grand. Each succeeding year unfolds wisdom, beauty, and holiness.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, 246:23)
Tenacre’s Independent Living Programs invite Christian Scientists who are members of The Mother Church to join a community bound together by their love of Christian Science. Our accommodations are for individuals who can live independently and enjoy living in a country setting. They bring their own furnishings to make it their home, a quiet place to continue their study and application of the principles of Christian Science. There are opportunities to make new friends and participate in the varied activities offered at Tenacre.
Christian Scientists-in-Residence (CSIR): Our ten independent cottages are either studios or one- or two-bedroom units. Each has its own living area, a small eat-in kitchen with all appliances, a laundry room, a front porch, and a back porch.
NEW: Rose Cottage, Shared Residence is family-style, independent living for up to four individuals who are active. We provide meals and housekeeping. There is a shared kitchen for those who enjoy participating in cooking or who want to make a snack or grab a late breakfast.
Members of the Rose Cottage family enjoy coming and going as they please as well as joining planned activities, such as Bible studies, hymn sings, shopping trips, concerts, lectures, board or card games, conversing in the living room, and dining together.
All residents in either program desire to actively participate in Tenacre’s mission: Tenacre Foundation is a Christian Science nursing ministry expressing God, Love — our mission is to heal.
Tenacre’s mission statement is the umbrella for the ministries described on our website. They include Christian Science Nursing Department; Homecare; Haven for Healing; Tenacre School of Christian Science Nursing; Christian Scientists-in-Residence; Rose Cottage, Shared Residence; Tenacre Visitor Accommodations; and the Spiritual Resource Library.
Tenacre is about 3 miles from downtown Princeton and conveniently located one hour from Philadelphia, PA as well as New York City. Our campus is situated in a peaceful neighborhood on nearly 100 acres of beautifully maintained grounds with lovely, wooded walking trails.
